Does it bring you joy?
Spring has officially sprung and we’re ready to clean out the old and bring in the new! Last year, we read Marie Kondo’s “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying-Up” and decided to adopt her mantra, or at least attempt to, as we quantified the importance of the items in our home by the amount of joy they brought us.
We were thrilled to find items that are keeping us motivated this Spring and hope that these gifts get you as motivated as they have for us, providing us with a little organizational inspiration. What better Hawaii gift basket to get you motivated than an organizational storage bin by Twiggy, an all purpose organic green cleaner by Green Max Pro and a hand knit dish scrubber by Apple Mint Shop.
We also decided to share some of our favorite cleaning/organizational tips:
Don’t throw away sturdy boxes and baskets that you receive cookies or gift baskets in. They work perfectly as drawer organizers or storage containers to organize all types of odds and ends!
Always keep a “goodwill bag” in your closet. That way, as you come across old items that no longer bring you joy you have an easier time adding them to the donation pile.
Mold Armor Instant Mold and Mildew Stain Remover is hands down the best mold/mildew cleaner I have ever used, its like magic the mold disappears.
Old toothbrushes are the best cleaning tool not only for your teeth but also for little crevices in your bathroom and kitchen.
A rule I use to help motivate me to clean is multi-tasking– I only allow myself to watch Netflix if I am washing dishes or doing some other productive activity.
And here’s another although not necessarily for tidying…Recycle the Wrappily shred from your My Aloha Post Hawaii subscription box! Keep it to use as basket filler for the next gift you give.
P.S. If you want to dust off your cleaning gloves and get motivated to organize treat your self to one of our Spring Cleaning boxes.
