“Life takes you to the most unexpected places,” said Melodie, who started Workshop 28 somewhat unexpectedly. After many late night Google searches, she found herself as the owner of a laser, and her company was born.
Specializing in the creation of signage, stationary and etched momentos, you’ll find cute, modern and inspiring coasters, personalized cooking tools and a variety of wood cut ornaments and bookmarks created by Melodie.
While Workshop28 has several of Melodie’s own items featured on her web site, her true passion is to collaborate with others who want to “create something a little different than what they’ve already been doing,” said Melodie.
Workshop28 is inspired by natural movement. Their logo, a combination of a Venn Diagram and the earth and the moon symbolizes the movement of time. “Twenty-eight days brings a new month, a new season, a new time. While it is always familiar, its never the same as the last. We evolve and change. My goal is to be a part of that movement by giving local artists and businesses a way to express their arts.”
As December brings a time that many of us reflect on the past year and prepare for the new one, a time where many of us look forward to new and exciting changes, we thought Melodie’s snowflake ornaments would be the perfect item to feature in your box.
“I love reminders. Whether it’s a reminder to keep moving forward or to just stop taking ourselves so seriously, we all need a reminder.
I want people to have things around them that remind them of the person they are,” said Melodie.
And we hope that seeing Melodie’s ornament hung on your Christmas tree can serve as a reminder for whatever serves you best. Whether it’s to remember what a wonderful year 2014 was as it comes to an end or to look forward to what 2015 brings.
